Our dosimetry systems for radiation processing applications feature a dose range capability from < 50 Gy to 300 kGy and we provide everything you need to implement a complete dosimetry program – instrumentation and equipment, dosimeters, software, and related procedures. And as part of our total solutions approach, we treat all customers as customers for life. We will work with you until you are fully satisfied with your system, and we will support you throughout the life of your system. We also offer customer service/support, as well as training of dosimetry personnel in our Hands-On Dosimetry Workshops. Our systems are designed to help you satisfy the full dosimetry requirements for the IQ, OQ, and PQ dose mapping and routine process monitoring called out in the ISO 11137 industry guidance document.

WINdose - Radiochromic Film Dosimetry System

Total Dosimetry Solution

No matter how you deliver radiation through your industrial processes, you have one goal: to be definite about dose. Discover how the WINdose Dosimetry can give you everything you need to successfully implement and maintain a dosimetry program for your company.

Our popular WINdose Dosimetry System is ideally suited for the majority of dose measurement applications between <1.0 and 150 kGy. Approximately 85% of all dosimetry systems installed worldwide since 2004 are GEX systems. Fast and easy, the B3 WINdose is the most accurate dosimetry system available on the market today.

Our radiochromic film solution is provided as a factory validated, design controlled, simple-to-use, economically effective dosimetry system. The WINdose Dosimetry System integrates an easy to use spectrophotometer with a user supplied Microsoft Windows PC to fully automate the dose measurement process and provides user-specific, pre-formatted dose reports. The system can be used to measure our GEX B3 dosimeter products, FWT, GAFCHROMIC and Harwell Perspex dosimeters.

A specific version of the Aerial Aer’ODE 21CFR Part 11 certified and proven dosimetry database software is also available as an option. Contact GEX Sales to learn more about tailoring a B3 WINdose system to meet your specific needs. Click on the links below for additional information:

Why B3 WINdose Dosimetry?

  • No other dosimetry system at any price can match the speed, pre- and post- irradiation measurement stability, and accuracy of our WINdose Dosimetry System using GEX B3 dosimeters for dose requirements from >1.0 to 150 kGy.
  • No other system can provide the absolute dose measurement traceability of our B3 dosimeters. Each packaged dosimeter is barcoded with a matching ID number to the dosimeters inside. Each dosimeter replicate inside the package is imprinted with a unique dosimeter ID.
  • The WINdose Dosimetry System is supplied with a full set of standard operating procedures and supported with a series of Technical Memos to support installation, calibration and use of the dosimetry system.
  • GEX offers complete dosimeter calibration services and the related products so there is no need to do it yourself or find another provider. As part of our total dosimetry solution, this key element provides the user with a single resource for dose traceability and calibration needs. Working hand-in-hand with our customers enhances our ability to meet each customer’s individual needs.
  • Our unbeatable customer service – no one else offers a total dosimetry solution!

RisoeScan

RisoeScan is a film scanning system comprised of a software package "RisoeScan" and user supplied flatbed scanner. Capable of higher resolution than any other system, RisoeScan has a wide range of applications. It is a particularly useful system for the validation of electron beam facilities and for product dose mapping due to the high spatial resolution that such a scanning system can provide. The user can irradiate strips or pieces of film and analyze them using the software, designed in LabView, determine electron beam energy and uniformity and can be used to map difficult products that may be impossible with other systems. Aer’EDE  - Alanine Pellet or Film-Based EPR Dosimetry System

The Aer’EDE alanine based solution was developed by Aerial of France as an elegant, factory validated, design controlled, total dosimetry solution. The Aer’EDE system integrates with a Microsoft Windows based PC and comes with the proven 21 CFR Par 11 compliant database software. GEX can tailor the Aer’EDE Dosimetry System for application as either an in-house Reference or Routine dosimetry system or both. Contact GEX Sales to learn more about an Aer’EDE system for your specific dosimetry needs. The dose range of the Aer'EDE system is <50 Gy to approximately 150 kGy. Calorimetry Dosimetry System

Calorimeters can be used in electron beam applications as internal standards, to aid in the qualification activities of electron beam facilities, and to calibrate other dosimetry systems in an electron beam. Calorimeters can also be an invaluable tool when investigating a problem in an electron beam facility as a reference to help determine if a problem is due to the process or a routine dosimetry system.

GEX offers a full line of calorimeters, including graphite and polystyrene models for use in 3.0 MeV to 10 MeV electron beam accelerator systems. They are ideal for use as an in-house reference standard or for use in routine process monitoring. Each calorimeter is supplied with a formal certification from Risø High Dose Reference Laboratory along with a copy of the CalDose software. The complete system assist the user to meet the requirements of ISO/ASTM 51631, Use of Calorimetric Dosimetry Systems.

Calorimeters are excellent dosimeters for electron beam because the response of the calorimeter (change in temperature of the calorimetric body) is a direct result of the energy imparted from ionizing radiation. Thus, the response function or temperature increase in the colorimeter is directly related to the dose received.

Polystyrene calorimeters (Dose Range 3 kGy - 40 kGy) along with a typical high precision ohm-meter used to measure resistance values before and after irradiation. The calorimetric body is surrounded with foam to provide thermal insulation. Graphite calorimeters are also available for lower dose applications (Dose Range 1.5 kGy - 15 kGy). Water Calorimeters are no longer available.
