Upcoming
GEX Dosimetry Workshops
We have scheduled April 7-9, 2009 for our next 3-day
Hands-on Dosimetry Workshop at our offices in Centennial,
CO USA. Please find more information by visiting our webpage
http://www.gexcorp.com/GEX_educ.html
A few
customers have expressed interest in attending a workshop
before the end of 2008. If you or a colleague would be interested
in a workshop before April 2009, please contact Mike Pageau
at mpageau@gexcorp.com
to formally express your interest and we may set a date for
a post IMRP 2008 workshop if there are at least 4 potential
participants.
Our 2008
spring workshop (see photo) was a success, participants and
trainers both had a good time! This last workshop was the
first with a shortened 3 day schedule. Thank you to our attendees
for valuable comments on the new format!
Harry
Farrar IV Tribute Dinner
There was a celebratory dinner in honor of our dear late friend
Harry Farrar IV the night of June 23rd at Maggiano's Restaurant
during the last ASTM E10.01 committee meeting in Denver, CO.
Friends and colleagues of Harry were joined by his wife Sharon
and his son Bruce to share stories and laughs in remembrance
of Harry. A new Committee E10 award in honor of Harry's dedication
was introduced and the first award was ceremoniously given
to Sharon. The award reads:
"This
award will be given to someone who has accomplished a seemingly
insurmountable goal or achievement for Committee E10 through
persistence and hard work in a timely manner. This individual
possesses not only the mindset and determination to achieve
the goal but also has the ability to motivate and encourage
others to assist them in accomplishing their goal."
We have
lost our lion, but you can still hear his roar!
ASTM
6th International Workshop on Dosimetry for Radiation Processing
ASTM subcommittee E10.01 has announced the next dosimetry
workshop will be held September 6-10, 2009 in Ettlingen, Karlsruhe,
Germany. This workshop is held approximately every 4 years
and we expect it will be very well attended. GEX encourages
those who are interested to register early! For more information,
